Ahlan special at Migrantpolitan (Kampnagel) at the 17th of August, 5 pm

During the International Summer Festival at Kampnagel, Ahlan invites to a special concert. The musicians Ninar Salloum (vocals), Paco Hallak (guitar) and Maher Alkadi (violin) reinterpret classical oriental songs and give an insight into a music scene ranging from Aum Kulthum to Ziad Alrahbani. The three Syrian musicians are part of the project "Ahlan - was geht? Hamburg meets Syria ", where professional musicians of all genres come together and create new music together. Today they will show you how diverse the Syrian music world is.

About the musicians:

Ninar Salloum: Ninar Salloum has been singing since she is six years old. She has played with different bands in and outside Syria. In Syria, she was part of the band "Pulse", who tried to keep the concept of "underground music" alive during the war. Ninar Salloum lives in Hamburg and is dedicated to new musical projects.

Maher Alkadi: Maher Alkadi is a Syrian violinist. He studied classical music in Damsakus and was a member of the Syrian national orchestra and the band "Pulse" until 2013. After his arrival in Germany, he was an honorary violin teacher in a refugee camp in Lüneburg and is a member of the Syrian Expat Philharmonic Orchestra. He also works as a cultural manager for various musical and cultural projects and creates his own sound designs and productions.

Paco Hallak: Paco Hallak is a flamenco guitarist and teacher from Damascus (Syria).

Location: Migrantpolitan (Kampnagel), Jarrestraße 20, 22303 Hamburg (U3 Borgweg / U3 to Barmbek + Bus 172/173 to Jarrestraße)

We look forward to meeting you!
